Woodland High School senior Alex Morrison has earned several well-deserved honors over the past few weeks. In school Alex is scoring a superb 95.8GPA while having earned high honors since starting high school in 2015. While completing his senior academic year, he has also added 3 college classes to his graduating records. Upon entering college in the fall of 2019 his plan is to major in some form of mechanical engineering.

Besides athletics Alex has been on the WHS Student Council, National Honor Society, and a member of the Academic Decathlon team. In athletics Alex has been a superb player and team captain on the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams, while always being very conscious of the importance of good sportsmanship. In the community Alex is a volunteer fire fighter and a coach with the Dribbling Dragons.

These very positive attributes have resulted in Alex being recognized within the State of Maine as a member of the prestigious Varsity Club. (The concept was to honor high school seniors who not only play sports, but who also excel outside of the classroom with grades, extra-curricular activities, and in the community.) He has also been nominated for consideration at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, and also the United States Air Force Academy. Our sincere congratulations to Alex on receiving these well-deserved and very special honors of recognition.
