APRIL 9: Monthly program of St. Croix Historical Society at 7 p.m. at the Holmestead in Calais.

APRIL 11: RESCHEDULED FROM MARCH 14 - 50th Anniversary Tribute, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem Sing of the Sea - songs from the most influential sea music recording performed by members of “From Away Downeast” at the Pembroke Library at 6:30 p.m.

APRIL 14: Alexander 4-A CURE Annual Relay for Life Bazaar & Pancake breakfast at Alexander Elementary School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join us for our usual yard sale treasures.

APRIL 15: Sunday Afternoons at the Eastport Arts Center presents “Sailing to the End of the World: Tales from South America and the Antarctic by Jerry and David Oja” at 3 p.m.

APRIL 20: Calais Area Breast Cancer Support Group will be meeting at 3 PM in the downstairs parlor at the Calais United Methodist Church, 849 Main St., Calais.  This free “gathering” is a comforting and safe environment to find encouragement and hope.  Open to all that have a breast cancer diagnosis.  FMI call Marianne at 454-0501.

APRIL 21: Benefit Spaghetti Supper & Chinese Auction for 9 year-old Donavin Clark waiting for heart transplant at Eastport Elem. School from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

APRIL 21: Free Machias Earth Day Celebration at the Performing Arts Center at the University of Maine at Machias from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. featuring a lecture by climate scientist Dr. David Goodrich, a showing of “A Plastic Ocean”, a short documentary about plastic waste in oceans, and local experts discussing the health of the Gulf of Maine. APRIL 28: Annual Moosehorn Amphibian Walk from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Guided walk to find frogs, salamanders, and aquatic insects. Wear boots and bring a flashlight. Meet at Moosehorn HQ.
