Armed Robbery in Pembroke Leads to Swift Arrest

Police received reports of an armed robbery in Pembroke at the Dollar General Store on January 10th at 4:45 p.m. Per the Washington County Sheriff's Department, it was reported that a white male subject, 6'1 to 6'2, wearing a white jacket, a black hat and a black face mask that covering part of his face, displayed a handgun at the clerk and took cash from the drawer and fled on foot from the store, running towards Route 1. 

Additional information was received from another caller, advising the RCC that the suspect was seen headed toward Ayers Junction Road in Pembroke on a bicycle. Law enforcement officers from Pleasant Point, Eastport, and the Sheriff's Department quickly converged on the area, finding a person matching the description on Route 214.

Joshua Fluke, 20, of Charlotte was arrested and the cash and weapon were recovered. Fluke, who was on probation, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with armed robbery. 

Additional charges are expected.
