In what will be an exciting season for Calais, the Lady Blue Devils feature a talented team that sports great defense, quickness with fast breaking, and a wealth of depth in shooting from anywhere on the floor. There are 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 7 very talented underclassmen on the squad. At home against the WA Lady Raiders the hosts closed the game out in the first half with a 37-14 lead. Lauren Cook paced the offense with 10 points over 16 minutes, Sophie McVicar and Olivia Huckins added 7 points each, and Libby Bitar 6. The spread continued in the third where sophomore Lauren Cook drained 7-2-pointers and freshman Sophie McVicar netted 10 points. At the horn Calais collected a 74-37 victory. Pacing the 37-point win was Lauren Cook with 26, sophomore Olivia Huckins 19, Sophie McVicar 17, and sophomore Libby Bitar 6-points.



Saturday Calais hosted the very talented Lady Knights from Narraguagus. The guests are another squad that’s young with just 1-senior, 4-juniors and 5-underclassmen. The game saw Narraguagus take a 1-point edge after 8-minutes of play, 10-9, as both teams seemed a little tight. Lauren Cook paced the second period with 7-points and Sophie McVicar added 4 as Calais took the lead by ending the half with a 24-19-point advantage. Lanie Perry brought the guests back to a 4 point deficit after 3 frames by scoring 8 points. The fans saw Lauren Cook hit 8 points and Sophie McVicar 5-points in the closing eight to secure the important 50-42 victory. In the stats columns Lauren earned a big 24 points, Olivia Huckins hit 10 with 5 boards and 4 assists, Sophie McVicar collected 9 with 10 boards and 5 assists, and Libby Bitar brought down 8 rebounds and scored 4 points.
