It’s a busy time for local 4-H North Woods Club members. Senior 4-H’er Hope Carle attended Eastern States Exposition in Springfield Massachusetts. She guided her Corgi, Koda to a second in dog obedience and third in showmanship. Going to the “Big E” has always been a special opportunity. I went for a week many years ago as a 4-H’er representing my county in the Massachusetts building. The exposition was started in 1916 by twelve community members in W. Springfield who purchased 175 acres and eight months later had it ready to go. It is now one of the ten largest fairs in the U.S. and runs for seventeen days. Hope and junior members also participated in the Perry Harvest Fair this past weekend.

A reminder from the Town of Princeton that it is that time of year to remove seasonal items from the West Street and South Princeton Road cemeteries no later October 31. It is important to take as much care of our cemeteries with the placement of items as the removal of them. It then becomes the task of the town office to remove and dispose of these items. As always, call the office if you have any questions. 796-2744.

Princeton is not having a rabies clinic this fall but there is one available on October 21 at the Baileyville Fire Department from 10:00-11:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to get dogs and cats immunized at a much reduced fee.

Absentee Ballots are now available at the town office. Residents who want to vote will need to have one if they are going to be away on election day, November 7, 2017.

The Princeton Library Committee will be working all this week to get ready for their book and bake sale on this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the library There have been many wonderful donations and there will be a good selection of books to purchase for winter reading as well as baked goods.
