I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful autumn weather. The only thing missing is rain. The crops are suffering from lack of rain. How thankful I am that we do not live in hurricane area.

Celebrating birthdays in October are Constance Guerrette on the 5th, Ginny Sterner on the 11th, Autom Scott on the 13th, David Crossman on the 20th.

Last Tuesday, October 4th, Pomona Grange met at the Perry Grange for a meeting following a pot luck supper. Master Helen Brooks opened the meeting and introduced our State Deputy, Nate Pennell, who gave a school of instruction during what would have been the Lecturer’s program. Nate, who is also a farmer, spoke of the problems caused by the drought in Washington County as far north as Aroostook County.

My husband went on a 300 mile trip to see the foliage as far as Perth Andover, New Brunswick and Fort Fairfield, ME. The foliage there was at its peak. He even saw a couple of Amish buggies near Fort Fairfield. He went on his motor scooter.

Last Saturday, October 1st, the Robbinston Grange had a table at the Perry Harvest Fair. The weather was perfect and a steady crowd of people shopped. We had a good time.
