Christmas Open House In Cooper

Christmas crafts, ornaments, and cookie decorating will be some of the activities taking place at the Cooper Community Center (CCC) from 1-4 pm on Saturday, December 19.  Everyone is cordially invited to join in the fun and admission is free.

There will be a workshop for making fruit ornaments and other avian edibles for our fine feathered friends.  There also will be cookies to decorate which will be packaged up and delivered to neighbors.  All materials will be provided.  A variety of seasonal crafts materials and ornaments will also be available for guests to create their own special decorations.  For children, there will be red Santa stockings to decorate and be filled with Christmas goodies – lots to take home!

John Viselli, along with other local musicians, will entertain the guests with holiday music.  Specially made music books containing lyrics will be available for guests to sing along.

A community tree lighting ceremony for the outdoor Christmas tree will be a highlight of the occasion.  The tree will be decked with the ornaments made of bird friendly edibles and sprinkled with bird seed.  The tree will remain in place all winter as a bird feeding station.

Refreshments will be provided by “Friends Café”.  This event is sponsored and hosted by “Cooper Community Center Friends” which also has plans for many future fun-filled events.    The group will gather at the CCC on Sunday, December 13, from 1-4 pm to decorate hall.   Everyone is welcome to join in.  FMI: Jo, 454-7383, or visit our Facebook page: “Cathance Cooper Friend”.
