The first Pomona meeting of the season was held on May 5th at the Perry Grange. A delicious pot luck supper was enjoyed by all. Master Helen Brooks conducted the meeting. The CWA gift, a beautiful plant, was won by Helen. Louise Lee presented a memorial program honoring those members who passed away last year. She also had a mother’s day program and several readings, a skit and a quiz. Mystery March was won by Paul Woodman and Kathy Mekelburg. The next meeting will be held on June 2nd at Cathance Grange in Cooper with a supper at 6 pm and meeting at 7 pm. Election of officers will take place.

Norma Brooks passed away and I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Norma.

I finally got some school news. The After School Activities will no longer be held for the rest of the school year. Sewing class with Mrs. Taylor will be on Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30.

The 8th grade class trip will be May 22 - 25. They will be going to New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Thanks to everyone and their help that makes this trip possible.

The following dates are subject to change depending on the weather. Visit Eastport Art Center on May 13th at 9 am. Academic Expo - May 13th starting at 5:20 pm. Square dancing with Mary- May 13th at 12:15 pm, Garden Club with Joni, May 14th at 12:15 pm. Kindergarten registration May 15th 8 am to 1 pm. Dental Van visit on May 15th, Spring Fling on May 16th 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, School Board meeting on May 19th, Memorial Day - May 25th. No school.

The 4:00 pm service at the Sewall Memorial Congregational Church was dedicated to mothers. Pastor Rob Windhorst spoke on the importance of Ascension Day May14th and why we should remember it. This is 40 days after Easter and commemorated the ascension of Jesus into Heaven.
