PAWS Thanks A Generous Community!

A few Saturdays ago was a wonderful day for PAWS Brave Hearts.  The weather was terrific, by all accounts a great day for the road toll fundraiser that is so important to the organization, but that was just the beginning.  According to Cheryl Zwingman Bagley who handled the afternoon shift with her husband, Lance:  “The outpouring of community support all day long was truly amazing.  People were generous in spirit and in donations.  It doesn’t get better than that!”

Throughout the year, the all-volunteer organization cares for hundreds of homeless cats and dogs.  PAWS unique Calais location along the Canadian border means that adopters come from Washington County and from Charlotte County.  PAWS board members love their city that bridges culture, commerce and community and Saturday was a great testament to just how important that relationship is to the animals in their care.  For more information about PAWS work, call 454-7662.
