July 27th - Honor Veterans, Fly the Flag. National Korean War, Vietnam, Armistice Day.

The Downeast Boys performed at Second Baptist Church last Thursday to a full house. A lovely lunch was served.

A beautiful quilt called “Corner Candy Shoppe” was made and donated to St. Anne’s to raffle during festivals in the area. Geri Reynolds was the talented lady who made the quilt. I have  tickets to sell should anyone be interested. I’m always around as well as other church members.

Don’t forget the Farmers’ Market every Tuesday at 11 am - 2 pm at the Triangle meet your friends and chit chat while waiting in line for fresh veggies, maple syrup, Jane’s beautiful flowers, baked goods and much more.

My daughter Lisa was home on the weekend from Sydney, ME. It was nice to see her. She works in the Town of Skowhegan.

There will also be a parish pot luck supper at St. Anne’s on Friday, July 25th at 5:30. Bring a dish to share. After supper will be singing Beatle songs. 

Tuesday, July 29th is Seniority pot luck luncheon and Bingo at Methodist Rec Hall at 11:30 am. Bring a covered dish and place setting. Dessert will be provided in honor of National Ice Cream Month.

Coming right along is the annual Chocolate Fest on August 2- August 7th. The Chocolate Mousse and Tiffany will renew their vows with elegance in front of forever cottage of late Whidden Ganong on Sunday, August 3rd at 2 pm (Can) at Ganong Nature Park.

The Junk in the Trunk sale will be Saturday, June 28th 8 am - noon. It’s getting to be a busy lot with lots of neat items.

On Saturday, July 26th at DiCenzo Athletic Complex, there will be three-on-three outdoor basketball tournament with nine competitive divisions ranging from pee-wee to adult. Trophies will be awarded to division winners 

On the new moon spread moss to shady, moist, acidic soil. Combine a large handful of healthy moss, 2 cups buttermilk and 2 cups of water in a blender. Pour mixture onto the area and  water regularly.

I’ve been hearing that St. Andrews has been packed this summer. Can’t even get parked most of time. It is such a quaint little town. I love to go and walk around, sit on a bench and go out to the  point at high tide and dip my tootsies in. So refreshing. Also discover treasures from around the world at the Ross Memorial Museum, 188 Montague Street. Take the tour 10 - 430 Canadian, Sunday 1 - 4:30. Free admission, will accept donations.

Gary and Carol Thornton have been home for several weeks attending the funeral of her brother Shirl Campbell and brother-in-law Jeff Gagner. 

The Fundy artists groups will hold their annual show at the Van Horne Ballroom at the Algonquin from July 30th to August 1st. There will be tin sculpture work, stained glass and much more. Open 9 - 9 Canadian each day.

The summer musical concert in St. Stephen on Thursday evenings 6:30 - 8:30 pm (Can). Stepping Out will perform this Thursday.

Save your pennies for the International Festival coming up August 7 - 10. Something for everyone.
