Kathy Mekelburg

Spring has finally arrived with long, warm days, sunny skies and as of Sunday, blackflies! I have started walking again, people are out on their bicycles and motorcycles.

Last Tuesday night, the Washington Pomona Grange met at Perry with a delicious pot luck supper at 6:00 p.m. followed by a meeting. Master Kathy Mekelburg precided. It was good to see old friends again. Filling in as Chaplain were Joan Ross and as Gatekeeper, Paul Woodman. Dues for the year were paid. The CWA winners were Arline Flood and Louise Lee, the raffle was won by Paul Woodman and the gas money by Ralph Flood. The mystery march was won by Paul Woodman and Joan Ross. The next meeting is June 3rd with Election of Officers.

At the Sewall Memorial Congregational Church, the Easter lillies are still blooming. Next week, the regular 4:00 p.m. service will be held, but on May 25th, there will be no service so that the members can attend the Hymnsing at the Congregational Church in Jonesport.

This Saturday, May 17th, the walk for the family of the late Wayne Leavitt will start at  the Robbinston Grade School at 10:00 a.m. The walk is about 5 miles and a small entrance fee will be charged. The money raised will be to help Renee Leavitt pay for the many medical bills she incurred.

Happy Birthday to Maryellen Morrell on the 19th, Jim Lucas on the 21st, Tiffany Carson on the 22nd and Howie Duvall on the 25th.

Continued get well wishes to Mike McConnell.
