High School Baseball

The Calais Blue Devils traveled to Harrington this past week to play their opener against the Knights of Narraguagus High School. While every other field in the county was still too wet & unplayable, the Knights have the big advantage of a professional in ground drainage system, a feature lacking in the other county facilities. Veteran senior Spencer Thompson hurled a fine opener for the hosts as he scattered 6-hits over the seven frames of action while walking just 2 and striking out a big 12-batters. The Knights captured the win in the bottom of the second when they took advantage of timely hit and miscues, and walks to gather 5-runs. They played to a solid 9-3 win over their guests. Junior Scott Wolley had an exceptional opener for the Knights collecting 3-hits and scoring 2-runs.
