Governor LePage Welcomes New Seafood Processing Facility to Eastport

Governor Paul R. LePage today offered his congratulations to Campobello Holdings, which is about to begin a seafood-processing operation in Eastport. The company is looking to process, blast freeze, package, store and export lobster and other seafood products to customers around the world.

“We have an abundant resource that is coveted around the world,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “This new processing facility will serve as a direct link from Maine waters to markets across the globe. A booming fishing and lobster industry is vital to the ongoing success of Maine’s economy.”

Campobello Holdings is planning to invest nearly $500,000 in building improvements, equipment and employee training. More than 15 jobs are expected to be created within the next two years.

“We have worked very closely with our local, regional and technical advisers on plan implementation, and are very grateful for the high level of professionalism and ‘can do’ spirit we’ve encountered at every step,” said Jimmy Wong an officer with Campobello Holdings.

The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and Governor LePage Account Executive Brian Mulligan have worked closely with the company over the last several months to access necessary resources and incentives needed to secure the private investment and job creation.
