With hunting season upon us, please be safe when out and about.  Walkers should even be sporting that bright orange as do the hunters.  Princeton Variety Store has tagged thirteen deer so far for this hunting season. Waite General Store has recorded twenty-nine tagged.  Remember, if you want your deer weighed, Waite Store has a nice weighing station. Congratulations to Shawn Miller and his son, Matt, for having success early in the deer season. Matt’s 144 pound, 4 pointer deer was shot on youth day; a memory he will never forget.  Also, congrats go out to Nancy and Mike Marshall for their success as well.  Nancy shot a deer, a “one pointer seven minutes into the hunting season” and Mike shot his calf moose in the North Maine Woods. This is very much a hunter’s dream each season, so good luck to all of you.

It was reported that approximately 150 people attended the Rod & Gun Club Hunter’s Supper last Saturday evening.  After the turkey dinner, the spirited speaker, John Ford, shared only a snippet of his lifelong Maine Game Warden stories with those in attendance.  His presentation, even though spoken with humor showed a sincere love of the job, extending credit to game wardens and their families in the state of Maine.

Sunrise Christian Church will host Glory Bound, a Southern Gospel band on Sunday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m.  Church members have begun to work on a cookbook as well that they plan to publish in the next few weeks. On Thanksgiving Sunday the parishioners will enjoy a pot luck luncheon after church as well as a holiday concert featuring the children’s hand bell choir at 3:00 p.m. on the 24th.

Both PES and WHS honored veterans everywhere with an assembly at the two schools. Both assemblies were open to the public.  As always the music by the students at these two events was appreciated.
