The Dragon’s Den

Camille Howard

Good morning, afternoon, or night, readers! WHS had something of a small week this week, but we’re still going to pack-up, ship, and deliver all the news. You need to be in the know.

This was an exciting week for sports at Woodland Jr Sr High School. Starting on Monday, the girls’ soccer team had their first victory against East Grand. Their season is coming to a close, we wish them the best of luck in the rest of their games. Running on over to track, runner Scott Boies had a meet this week. He came 14th out of 30 runners! Congratulations, Scott!

The Student Council’s food drive came to an end this week, and would like to say thank you to everyone who donated food and supplies! There was a wonderful amount of food raised, which will help less fortunate members of our community make it through their week. Great work, students and staff!

Ryan McIver and Jaycie MacArthur represented the Dragons at the annual DAC breakfast at Helen’s in Machias. Every sports season, athletes from all the schools in the DAC meet for a breakfast to talk with other schools about being student athletes and to have a good meal! There won’t be another breakfast until basketball season, so this is something of a special occasion for those students asked to attend.

Yearbooks are available for pre-order at WHS, and for a short time, you save 5 dollars on your pre-order. Students interested in getting a yearbook should get in touch with Ms. Orchard or get an order form in the office.

That just about wraps it up for this week at WHS. We’ll be back next week with more news for your reading pleasure. Until then, thanks for checking in!
