PAWS Holds Kitten Adoption Event

Meet Metaphor, who seems to resemble Dennis the Menace in this photo.  And yes, he really does know how to get into just about anything in sight!  According to board member, Brittany Lebel, he is also one of the biggest cuddlebugs at PAWS. (Photo Brittany Lebel).

PAWS Brave Hearts is hosting a special kitten adoption event to find loving, permanent homes for the many kittens in its care.  From now until Columbus Day weekend, PAWS is showcasing these wonderful kittens and encouraging families to adopt two kittens for $80, the normal adoption fee for one.  With the recent influx of kittens, the organization can accommodate any match in terms of temperament, color or any other quality on an adopter’s wish list.

This has been a very demanding year for PAWS, as the number of unwanted litters being abandoned has grown.  According to PAWS President, Cheryl Zwingman-Bagley, “That scary start in life doesn’t affect the kittens once they are safe and sound at PAWS.  These little fur babies roll with the punches.  They practically learn to play overnight!”  Over the past several years, the organization has had great success with its two-kitten adoptions.  Families have been thrilled with the fact that the kittens, who are extremely active, have playmates to keep them occupied throughout each busy day.  That companionship and stability helps them thrive in their new homes.

Prospective adopters can meet kittens at PAWS, 368 South St in Calais, every Thursday, Friday or Saturday afternoon from 1-4 or at Eastport Pets, 89 Water St in Eastport during regular business hours.  This weekend, available kittens will also be posted on PAWS’ facebook gallery for adoptable kittens.  Adopters can also call 454-7662 or email to set up a meet and greet seven days a week.
