Houlton Nips Devils 2-1

In Houlton on Saturday the Shiretowners fell behind early as Calais drew first blood on the season when Jordan Hatch delivered the ball into the net. The hosts responded that half when Bre Longstaff found the twine to put the game at a 1-1 deadlock midway. The winning conversion came with 37-minutes left in the game off an Emily Moores shot for Houlton.

The Calais Blue Devil boys squad opened with a smashing 10-2 win at home on Friday against the Guagus Knights. Conor McCadden and Nathan Newell each poured in 3-goals each with Cordell Hold, Jake Skriletz, Kyle Johnson, and PJ Descoteaux each adding a goal in the win.  Cody Rohde and Jacob Muir combined to save 17 of 20 tries on goal. Spencer Thompson hit the lone goals for the guests.
