CCLC Offers Outdoor Adventure Day Camp

The Cobscook Community Learning Center in Trescott is building on the popularity of its Outdoor Adventure Club by offering three, week-long, day camps this summer. The camps will begin on June 24, July 22, and August 19, and each will run for five days from 9 am to 4 pm. The center will run a bus between Trescott and Machias each day to make it easier for families to utilize the camps.

The CCLC’s Outdoor adventure day camp will offer local youth, ages 7-13, with an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities while making new friends, building confidence, and developing an awareness of nature. Over the course of each week, students will participate in activities including swimming, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, and geocaching. Kids will also participate in instructional sessions in map and compass, fire building, wilderness survival skills, leave-no-trace camping, and first-aid. Bobbi-Jo Bourdeau and Michael Giudilli will lead the camps, just as they have successfully led the center’s Outdoor Adventure Club which has met every Saturday across the 2012-13 school year.
