MARCH 20: St. Croix International Quilters will be meeting at the Calais Methodist Homes Rec Center on Palmer Lane in Calais at 6:00 p.m.  Program for the evening will be Fabric Painting with Joanne Spencer. Refreshments will be served.  Public welcomed.

MARCH 21: Church Supper at United Methodist Church, 849 Main St., Calais at 5:00 p.m. Baked beans, casseroles, homemade pies, rolls, coffee, tea.

MARCH 21: CHS Band Annual Spaghetti Supper from 4:40 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Calais Congregational Church. Chinese Raffle with tons of items!

MARCH 23: Woodland High School Class of 2013/Project Grad will have a Spaghetti Dinner and Chinese Auction at the Spednic Club. Doors open at 4:40 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m.

MARCH 23: Valley Gospel Singers from St. Stephen will be performing at 2nd Baptist Church in Calais at 6:30 p.m. (US). A benefit for the Baptist Youth Camp.

MARCH 25: Hearing at Legislature’s Marine Resources Committee, room 206 at 9:00 a.m. in support of the St. Croix alewives, LD 72, an act to open the St. Croix River to river herring. Against LD 584 which would severely limit the alewives.

MARCH 27: Seniority Breakfast Club will meet at Wickachee Restaurant at 7:00 a.m.

MARCH 28: Calais Area Job Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Washington County Community College gymnasium. No cost event! Register contact Dodie at 255-1933. Registration required. Light lunch provided. Snow date March 29.

APRIL 6: Gospel Concert hosted by New Life Christian Assemble, 8975 Old Ridge, NB at 6:00 p.m. (CAN time). Free will offering only. All welcome!

APRIL 6: Cornerstone Baptist Church of Eastport is hosting a Country Gospel Christian Concert from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Free will offering will be taken. All are welcome.

APRIL 10: Reading Group: “State of Wonder” by Ann Patchett at Calais Bookshop, 405 Main Street, Calais at 5:30 p.m. FMI 454-1110.

-Wednesdays: AL-ANON meets at 6:30 p.m. in the old Calais Hospital basement.

-Fridays: Caregiver Support group at Machias Veterans’ Home meets first Friday of every month at 2:00 p.m. Contact Lisa at 255-0162 FMI. 

-Mondays - Weekly computer tutorials beginning at Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Open and free to all.

-Saturdays: Shape-Note singing at the Cobscook Community Learning Center, first Saturday of every month from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Potluck supper after. All levels of experience welcome.

-3rd Saturday of Each Month: Calais Chapter of the American Sewing Guild meets at the Second Baptist Church, Church Street, Calais at 10:00 a.m. FMI call Irene at 454-2422.

1st Thursday of the Month: WCDA will meet at the Machias CareerCenter and by video-conference at WCCC President’s Conference Room from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

1st Monday of the Month: Caregiver Support Group meets at the Maine Seacoast Mission in Cherryfield at 2:00 p.m. Contact number is 546-4456.
