Eastport Arts Center Hosts Festival of Trees

Eastport Arts Center will become a fantasy of a winter wonderland on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 4:30-5:30 p.m., at the Third Annual Festival of Trees.

Enjoy tasty treats and live music at this silent auction, while bidding on 25 table-top trees, including a Yum Yum Tree, Homemade Christmas, It’s Christmas Deer, Word Tree, Snow Day, Holiday Concert, Have Yourself a Beary Mini Christmas, Key Tree, Under Noah’s Ark, Christmas Stars of the Stage, Ode to Bentley, Made in Maine Picnic, Little Water Street Sparkle, Owl Be Home for a Handmade Christmas, Village Tweet Tree, Christmas Jewels, Petite Joys and eight others.

The fresh cut trees were donated by Chris and Steve Grannis and decorated by area artists, fans, businesses, neighbors and groups.

The festival is an inter-generational benefit event, with participants from age 7 to 89, including 12 local businesses and non-profit organizations.

“I like how there’s no teacher telling people what they can and can’t make,” said Riley Fraser, 8. “It’s all up to them.”

Seven-year-old Shaelyn Barnes liked, “putting peanut butter and birdseed on pine cones to feed the hungry birds” to decorate a tree last year.

This is an opportunity to support the Arts Center while having fun and decorating a tree for your family.

Eastport Arts Center is located at 36 Washington St., Eastport. For more information, call 853-4650.
