Grand Lake Streams 10th Annual Memory Tree will be held on December 9th at 5:00pm. Come and join your neighbors in Celebrating the Holiday by placing an ornament in memory of someone you loved and lost. This event is held at the home of Damon and Linda Curtis.  After the dedication and lighting they will be serving refreshments.  Many thanks to Damon and Linda Curtis for sponsoring this community event. They are looking forward to seeing everyone!

The Pine Tree Store Friday night special this week is beef stew with noodles, salad, roll and brownie.  Hope everyone enjoys!

The Pine Tree Store also has tagged 17 deer this year with the largest being 227 pounds shot by Paul Laney. See photograph.

Be sure you have this date marked on your calendar (December 2) because a special benefit dinner is being planned in support of Dick Turmenne, a cancer victim. The event is taking place on December 2, 2012 at the Princeton Rod and Gun Club House.  The meal is an area favorite serving the Grand Lake Stream Chicken BBQ Dinner.  Jamie Bohannon will be the DJ and the master of ceremonies. Both a Chinese and Scottish auction will take place.  If you have some items to place in the auctions contact Linda Curtis.  All items will be appreciated.  Tickets for the 5:00 o’clock event can be purchased at the Pine Tree Store or from Linda Curtis or from Butch Hanson in Calais.  His phone # is 454-2284. This event is a great way to get started into the Christmas spirit of giving and sharing!  Plan on being part of this supportive benefit!

On December 7, 2012 at 6:00 the Women to Women Group is sponsoring a movie night.  Popcorn and Cider will be served and the movie is, “Miracle on 34th Street”. Come and be part of this fun community gathering!

On December 10, 2012 the Women to Women Group is inviting all the women in town to a Christmas luncheon at 11:00 am at the school house. There will be a gift exchange and everyone should bring a wrapped present (value not over $10.) to be exchanged.  All the women in town are invited to be part of this event.  For additional details call 796-0888.

Have a great week!  Your humble correspondent Dave McCullough,  207-839-4205
