JOSEPH J. DOBRIKO, JR., 74

 

SCARBOROUGH - With heavy hearts, we share the news of the death of Joseph J. Dobriko, Jr. He passed onto the wide-open hunting and fishing grounds of the great beyond on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Gosnell House in the presence of his wife and daughter. His passing followed a hard struggle with cancer. 

High School Softball Action

 

The number-3 rated Lady Knights from Narraguagus were hosted by Woodland on Wednesday. A big 9-run third put the game out of reach as Narraguagus powered to a 21-1 win after 5-innings of action. Lanie Perry held the Lady Dragons hitless.

Dining for A Cause

While the Chowder House doesn't officially open for the Season until May 19 this crew was willing to put in the time early to help this great cause.

WCCC Graduates Urged to Embrace Change

The sun emerged after days of rain to grace the procession of Washington County Community College graduates as they walked from the college to the auditorium at Calais High School. The shifting weather appropriately accompanied the ceremony’s repeated theme of embracing change, a message that resounded in each of the speeches delivered to the graduates.

Across the nation, there are more than 800,000 Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers offering injury prevention and safety awareness information and treating medical emergencies for their respective communities.  At Calais Regional Hospital, we are thankful for the squads who serve our region and work with the Hospital to provide this essential community service every day.

We , the undersigned,  are writing this letter out of our sincere concern regarding the newly proposed American Health Care Act  (AHCA or Trumpcare), which would replace the current Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare), enacted in 2010, and how these changes would affect our families,  friends and neighbors across Washington County.
