Community Effort Made for Great Parade Night

The Calais Lioness Club created a magical evening once again with lots of cheer spread city-wide with the annual Christmas Parade.  This big event, now in its 18th year, brought hundreds to downtown who lined the streets in anticipation of Santa's big arrival.

Irene Chadbourne Food Pantry Needs $17,000 to Open Emergency Shelter

Thousands of dollars and hundreds of volunteer man hours have been invested in building an emergency shelter for individuals and families facing medical, fire or disaster hardships. This three-bedroom, fully furnished shelter, which will serve the Calais area and Washington County, is now complete.
