Great Garden Plot at AES

Students in K-4, Kindergarten and 1st grades are learning about plants and how they grow.  On Tuesday, May 13th, Agronomist and Soil Scientist Tim Sanford came to the Alexander Elementary School to tell the children about garden soil.  The classes have been learning about seeds, roots, plants and leaves.  Mr.

Baileyville – Shawn Ryan Donahue Sr., 41, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 17, 2014 with his wife and son by his side.  Shawn was born in Houlton on May 22, 1972, son of Frederick and Deborah (Peters) Donahue.  He graduated from Calais High School, Class of 1990, and worked for his father’s business, Donahue Auto Supply.

Friends of Cooper Community Center

“Friends of Cooper Community Center” have painted the floor of the hall. They first scraped and cleaned the floor, then painted the floor with a light-colored Rust-o-leum paint combined with grit, to make it slip-proof. A few months ago the group had painted the ceiling of the hall a bright white.
