Bangor, Maine - United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Jeremy Gertsch, 35, of Oka, Quebec, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor, by Chief Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. to nearly 16 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release for making false statements in connection with the purchase of firearms.
The nineteenth annual statewide competition for the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Design Contest is underway.
The deadline for submissions is coming up – entries must be received by March 15, 2013. The judging for this year’s Maine Junior Duck Stamp Contest will be held at Washington County Community College on March 27th from 9:00 a.m. to noon and is open to the public.

Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed Jared Foster, (19) of Danforth for Receiving Stolen Property stemming from a case from October of 2012 in Danforth. A fish finder was stolen from a business on Route 169 and was recently recovered.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has responded to a series of requests for service of similar natures over the past few weeks. These requests have included phone and internet scams, roadway accidents, and property alarms.

Eastport and The Villages, FL - Lorraine Theresa Murphy, 87, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 in The Villages, FL following a short illness. By her side were her granddaughters, Dori and Cindy and her great granddaughter Lindsey.
Robert Stephen Skedgell, 77, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away February 11, 2013. Robert was born October 28, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gerald Skedgell and Mary Skedgell nee Galbraith. He was a graduate of Brighton High School.
